Online Prescriptions

No more queuing at the pharmacy with a crumpled paper slip. When your Meridian Health GP decides you need a prescription, it’s arranged before your video consultation has even finished.

How it works

During your consultation your doctor will discuss the treatment options with you. If a prescription is clinically appropriate, it is issued electronically and sent straight to the UK pharmacy of your choice — your local chemist, a supermarket pharmacy, or a partner online pharmacy that can deliver to your door, usually within two to three working days.

What it costs

Prescriptions are not included in the £29 consultation fee. You’ll pay the standard pharmacy charge for your medication, plus the NHS prescription charge of £9.90 if you would normally be liable for it — or less if you’re exempt through age, income or a medical condition.

Repeat prescriptions for long-term conditions

If you take regular medication for a condition such as asthma, thyroid problems or blood pressure, your Meridian doctor can set up a repeat prescription. Reordering takes under a minute in your patient dashboard, and your pharmacy will prepare it ready for collection or delivery.
