Sick Notes & Medical Letters

Whether you’re off work with flu, need to be signed off after a minor procedure, or require a letter for university or school, sorting the paperwork shouldn’t be the hardest part of being unwell.

Fit notes for work or study

If you’ve been unwell for more than seven days, your employer can ask for a fit note (the modern replacement for the old ‘sick note’). During your consultation, your Meridian GP will complete the form, state the advice for your employer, and email it to you directly — most notes are issued the same day.

Letters for school, university and travel

From letters for university extenuating circumstances to school absence notes and travel insurance statements, your doctor can provide documentation during your consultation when it’s clinically appropriate.

NHS referrals and specialist letters

If your condition needs a closer look, your Meridian GP can write to your registered NHS GP or refer you directly to a specialist. Where possible, we work with NHS waiting lists and private clinics to find the fastest safe route to the care you need.
